Mould removal in Vancouver & the Lower Mainland

Vancouver's damp climate makes mould a common problem. We find it, contain it, remove it safely and fix the moisture that caused it — so it doesn't come back.

Mould needs moisture to grow. After a leak or flood it can start within 24–48 hours, and in our wet winters it often shows up in bathrooms, basements, window frames and attics with poor ventilation.

Wiping or painting over mould doesn't solve it. Proper remediation removes the growth, keeps spores from spreading through the rest of your home, and corrects the moisture source.

Signs you may have mould

  • A musty, earthy smell

Often the first sign — even when nothing is visible.

  • Spots or staining

Black, green or white patches on walls, ceilings, grout or wood.

  • Peeling paint or bubbling drywall

    Moisture trapped behind the surface.

  • Recent leak or flood

Especially if the area wasn't professionally dried.

  • Condensation on windows

Constant condensation can feed mould on frames and sills.

  • Damp attic or crawl space

Poor ventilation lets moisture build up out of sight.

Our process

How we remove mould

  1. 1

    Inspection

We locate the growth and the moisture source using moisture meters and thermal imaging.

  2. 2

    Containment

Plastic barriers and negative air pressure keep spores from spreading to clean areas.

  3. 3

    Air filtration

HEPA air scrubbers capture airborne spores during the work.

  4. 4

    Removal & cleaning

Affected porous materials are removed; structural surfaces are HEPA-vacuumed, cleaned and treated.

  5. 5

    Fix the cause

We dry the area and address the leak or ventilation issue so mould doesn't return.

FAQ

Mould removal questions

Is a small patch of mould something I can clean myself?

Very small areas on hard surfaces (like bathroom tile) can often be cleaned by homeowners. If it's larger than a small patch, keeps coming back, is on drywall or wood, or follows water damage, it's worth having it inspected.

Is mould dangerous?

Mould can irritate the eyes, nose and lungs and can worsen allergies and asthma. People with respiratory conditions, young children and older adults are generally more sensitive.

Will the mould come back?

Not if the moisture problem is fixed. That's why we always identify and correct the source — a leak, condensation or poor ventilation — as part of the job.
